Q: Do the mandatory restrictions apply to rainwater tank use?
 A: If your rainwater tank is not connected to Sydney Water mains and contains only rainwater, using water from your tank is excluded from the mandatory restrictions. If your rainwater tank is topped up by drinking water from Sydney Water you must abide by the mandatory water restrictions.

Q: DIY?
 A: Yes, you can install you own rainwater tank as long as you follow the manufacturers instructions and local council guidelines. A licensed plumber is required if you wish to connect to toilets, laundries etc.

Q: Do I need to filter the water going into my tank?
 A: The inlet strainer is made of fine stainless steel mesh screwed into the top of your tank, keeping out insects and leaves. A large range of extra filters and leaf catchers are available see our accessories range for just a few.

Q: When does the Sydney Water Rebate Scheme finish?
 A: There are currently no Sydney Water rebates available at this time.

Q: How much water can you catch?
 A: A simple calculation will determine your potential water catchment. Every m2 of roof equals 1 litre of water for every 1 mm of rain. Multiply your total m2 of roof area by your annual rainfall average and you will have the total potential catchment for a year. Yes, it is amazing how much goes down the drain!
